I hope to see Wood back for us in relief next year, but not for the price of his option. If he plays for anybody, I would expect a small contract with big incentives. Wood would be much better out of the bullpen than Novoa.
Anybody care to explain to me why Jacque Jones is starting today? There is a lefty on the mound for the Pirates, and according to Baseball Tonight, Pagan has scored 7 runs in his last 6 games. At least Perez is starting today.

RBI/AB - 52/361 = .144

Pagan -

I wish I had Pitch/AB information too, but I don't. I think Pagan should completely replace Jones. I'm not sure Pierre should be back next year either. Murt' could lead off, Pagan could play Right or Center, and we could sign a power outfielder.
That's it. Either Jones or Pierre should ride the bench. Pagan and Murton are both going to be better than Jones, and soon. They are the future of the organization, and they may both be playing better than either of our other outfielders right now. Let the kids play. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if Jones was shipped out of the city in the offseason. In fact, I wouldn't feel bad about Murton in left, Pagan in center, and then getting a free agent power outfielder for right.
Anybody else think it's funny that JT will bother to make a post just to express his irrational hatred for Kerry Wood, but doesn't bother to discuss anything good the Cubs have done of late? How bout the fact that we've been winning games? Or that the young guys have really been doing a nice job? Any thoughts on Cedeno moving to second, the acquisition of Izturis, the Pagan vs. Murton vs. the other two outfielders Baker refuses to bench? HELLO?
